Our Story
The Baked Potatoes originally formed in 2005 by chance. Lil Tommy and Sonny
Boy were playing with another band. Larry Anderson filled in as a
substitute guitar player for a last minute booking and a new chapter began.
The trio continued gigging without a name and eventually added a fourth
member. Sonny Boy moved from drums to guitar and Paul Chamberlain joined
on drums. After a long evening at the Pump Room in Worth, the Baked
Potatoes coined their name.
The band eventually turned back into a power trio and gigged successfully for several years. On August 8th, 2010 legendary guitarist / vocalist / brother / best friend Larry Anderson (Uncle Lar) passed unexpectedly and the Baked Potatoes folded. Lil Tommy and Sonny Boy joined forces with DaveBob and DenBob of the AcoustiBobs and formed the Limitations. The Limitations enjoyed a good run for a little over a year but hectic schedules prevented the band from continuing their efforts. As the Limitations were concluding their south of I-80 tour, Lil Tommy and Sonny Boy emerged from a mythical cave with old friend and guitar player Kenny Cachur. The spirit of the music was deemed good and the trio started playing under the guise of the Baked Potatoes once again. |
The Potatoes were still in search of another element to fill out their sound. The found it yet another old friend with Myron Pieczonka on keyboards. The Baked Potatoes enjoy the spirit of keeping on the tradition of classric rock. Please join us as often as you can. Check the schedule page to see when the Potatoes will be near you. |
