Myron Pieczonka - Keyboard, Vocals
Myson started playing music at the age of 6. He asked his mother for a set of drums and was told, "Take a couple years of piano lessons. Then we'll see." That was nearly 50 years ago. He has been playing piano/keybords ever since. It seems that the old adage "Mother knows best" is correct.
Myron grew up trained in classical piano. He continued that training throughout his high school and college years. he majored in music at St. Xavier College. Myron did not enter the Rock & Roll scene until his mid high school years where he played with a few high school garage bands. In the late 70's and early 80's, Myron traveled with a few full time road bands. Upon returning from the road, he joined a couple of popular south side Chicago bands playing the bigger rock venues and festivals. While playing with the bands Backstreet (voted "Best Live Band" by the Daily Southtown in 1999) and Radio Player, Myron performed shows with many national acts. He was named #2 Keyboard Player by Nite Life magazine in 2009.
Musis is Myron's passion and he vows to play out live as long as he can physically perform. Even though he may not play full tiem anymore, Myron says "I'm a musician first. I just happen to make my living working a day job!"
Lil Tommy - Bass, Vocals
Lil Tommy' first stage appearance was with the high school garage band The Fortunes Of. Back in his high school days, Lil Tommy also fronted several other bands including Marshmallow Steamshovel and Dark Light. Almost fifty years later he is still appreciating every moment of playing live.
In 1973, Lil Tommy met Kenny Cachur and Mayor Roy DiGangi. They formed the band Yellow Brick Road. They changed the name of the group to Truth when Jack McEleny replaced their former drummer. While on tour in Wisconsin, they stumbled upon another group also bearing the name Truth. They changed their name and continued until 1976. When that group disbanded, Lil Tommy went back to work for the post office.
Lil Tommy had always led bands as a lead vocalist. In 1978 Lil Tommy filled in on bass for the band Waterfall. Not only was this the beginning of Lil Tommy's bass guitar career, but this is also where Lil Tommy met current Potatoes keyboard player Myron.
Shortly after that, Lil Tommy joined the band Sundown as a singing bass player. Since then, Lil Tommy has faked his way as an instrumentalist with Knight Majik, Passin Thru, and many more including the Baked Potatoes. Lil Tommy's favorite things to have at any gig include: his G&L bass, Fender Jaguar bass, his SWR amp, and a cold Heineken.
